Making a Difference

Between caring for her 99-year-old father and coping with multiple sclerosis herself, Donna* was at the end of her rope when she contacted AgeOptions about her father's prescription coverage. Her father was developing pneumonia and needed a prescription filled immediately. Donna knew that her father had Medicare and Medicaid coverage, but at the pharmacy she was told coverage had been canceled. An information specialist at AgeOptions helped enroll Donna's father in the new Medicare Part D program and instructed the pharmacist on how to correctly process the prescription, which was then shortly filled.

AgeOptions accepts contributions from members of the community, businesses and organizations that share our vision. These contributions enable us to ensure resources and service options are available to older adults and those who care for them, and allow us to develop and expand programs in response to the changing needs and expectations of our constituents.

AgeOptions develops and funds services that are provided by community agencies to improve the quality of life of older adults and enable them to remain in their homes. These services include planning care options for older adults who are unable to live at home without additional help, home delivered meals and group dining, assistance with daily living tasks, adult day services for those who are not able to stay at home alone during the day, transportation to medical appointments, services for caregivers, and more.
